“江门，一个让我梦想启航的地方。”当被问及为何选择江门创业时，海归博士、广东奥柏科技有限公司（以下简称“奥柏科技”）创始人杜思源毫不犹豫地给出了答案。

杜思源是地地道道的香港人，却选择扎根江门创业。他先后获得英国普利茅斯大学机械工程学士学位、莱斯特大学工商管理硕士学位和澳大利亚斯威本科技大学环境工程博士学位。2022年11月，他带着自己的环境科技梦想，进驻珠西先进产业优秀人才创业创新园（以下简称“双创园”），创立了奥柏科技。

“江门作为粤港澳大湾区的重要节点城市，交通便捷，物流发达，为公司提供了广阔的发展空间。”杜思源说。然而，创业初期并非一帆风顺。技术难题、市场拓展……每一个都是难关。但他并没有被难倒，而是凭借着专业知识，在团队的共同努力下，一一克服。

如今，奥柏科技在环境科技领域崭露头角，自主研发的“MNT微营养技术”及三大核心系列产品——用于微生物水处理的微量营养素添加剂、废气生物洗涤柜和仿自然生态净水系统，已广泛应用于除臭工程、污水治理、养殖业控臭处理等领域。其中，“MVN仿自然生态净水系统”更获得2023年香港工程师学会优秀大奖。

奥柏科技不仅积极应对社会对环境可持续发展的需求，深耕环保工程领域，还依托杜思源博士在制造业及建筑业等营运管理方面的经验，从事专业演唱会舞台搭建、晚会工程文艺表演展览展示、国际车展等方面的桁架结构设计安全评估、工业结构承重安全生产评估及各类技术服务。

“Jiangmen City is where my dreams set sail.” When asked why he chose Jiangmen City to start his business, Dr. Du Siyuan, a returnee from overseas studies and Founder of Guangdong Aobai Technology Co., Ltd. (Aobai Technology), answered without hesitation.

Today, on the vibrant hub of development in the hometowns of overseas Chinese, more and more entrepreneurs are flocking to Jiangmen City, which offers vast development space, generous policies, and high livability. As a key node in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), Jiangmen City has embraced the “Millions of talents converging in South Guangdong” initiative, rolling out nearly 20,000 premium positions to attract global talent.

With robust industrial chains and supply chains, abundant technological resources, and a deep talent pool, Jiangmen City provides a boundless stage and numerous possibilities for entrepreneurs. Let’s explore the stories of three young “makers” from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who have chosen to take root here, that is Du Siyuan, Wang Shouping, and Li Jinghao, and their deep bonds with Jiangmen City.

“Jiangmen City offers the perfect launchpad”

As a native of Hong Kong, Du Siyuan chose to take root and start a business in Jiangmen City. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Plymouth (UK), an MBA from the University of Leicester (UK), and a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia). In November 2022, he brought his environmental technology aspirations to Jiangmen City, establishing Aobai Technology at the Zhuxi Advanced Industry Outstanding Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park (the Park).

“Jiangmen City’s strategic location in the GBA, with its efficient logistics and transportation networks, provides immense growth potential for my company,” Du explained. However, the early days were not smooth, technical hurdles, market expansion, and others posed numerous challenges. Yet, through expertise and teamwork, he and his team overcame all the obstacles.

Today, Aobai Technology has emerged as a leader in environmental science and technology. Its self-developed “MNT Micro-nutrient Technology” and three core products - micro-nutrient additives for microbial water treatment, bio-scrubbers for waste gas, and the nature-inspired water purification system, all of which are widely used in deodorization, wastewater treatment, and odor control and treatment in the aquaculture industry. The MVN nature-inspired water purification system won the 2023 Outstanding Award of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.

Beyond actively meeting the needs of environmental sustainability and delving into environmental protection engineering, Aobai Technology leverages Du’s experience in manufacturing and construction to engage in the design and safety assessment of truss structures, industrial structure load-bearing safety production assessment, and various technical services for professional concert stage construction, evening party engineering, artistic performances, exhibitions and displays, international auto shows, etc.

“Jiangmen City has an excellent entrepreneurial environment, and the talent carrier like the Park, provided great platform and support for us,” Du noted that the Park provided complete incubation services and abundant resources accelerated the company’s growth.
